my boat has no electrics

hi i have just got my self a good dockrell 22 but it has no electrics i know how to do all the lighting but my out board has a lead which plugs in for charging how do i wire this up and were is the battery mounted usally and how do i wire up to the switch units? and one other question i have a knot meter speedo how does this work as this also is not rigged up any were it looks like a cable os some sort?

My alternator output goes direct to the battery terminals and the battery is secured in my toilet compartment - starboard side just under the cockpit seat. I don't know enough to advise on switch wiring but at least it's only 12volts if you get it wrong. Good luck ![:)]
